The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the team reach places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the family.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.

Future Episodes

Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers tables.

Viewers can expect learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
